The SplashMe Automation Controller just got a major connectivity upgrade.
Firmware 2.5.41 is all about keeping your pool online, making problems easier to spot, and making updates more reliable.
Here's what's new and what you need to do.
What's new at a glance
- A much more resilient connection. Your controller now recovers from dropouts faster, works around restrictive firewalls and faulty router settings, supports IPv6, and roams smoothly on mesh Wi-Fi networks.
- Fewer mystery offline periods. A dead connection is now detected in about 35 seconds (down from 100), so your controller reconnects sooner.
- Network diagnostics on the controller screen. See exactly where a connection problem sits (Wi-Fi, router, internet or cloud) without needing a laptop.
- More reliable over-the-air updates. Every update is now verified as it installs, so future updates go on cleanly first time.
- Up to 4 wireless expanders per controller (previously 2), giving you more room to add equipment. Existing pairings aren't affected.
- Improved wired (Ethernet) connection that stays connected through routine security certificate renewals.
What you'll notice
- New connection summary page, two presses from the dashboard. It shows signal strength, online status, the last disconnect reason in plain words, and a coloured chain showing where any fault sits.
- Clearer Wi-Fi setup. Instead of a simple pass or fail, setup now tells you if it's a wrong password, a router issue, no internet or a blocked cloud connection. Your details are only saved once the connection is proven.
- Wi-Fi reset from the controller, handy if you've changed your router or password.
- "Empty Wi-Fi list" fixed when refreshing available networks.
- Antenna fault detection, shown right on screen.
How to get the update
- Open the SplashMe app and find your device ID under your device.
- Email support@splashmepool.com.au with your device ID and ask for the latest firmware.
- We'll update your controller over the air. It takes a few minutes, your pool settings are kept, and we'll email you when it's done.
Using more than two wireless expanders? Make sure your SplashMe app is up to date so expanders 3 and 4 appear.
